After Obtaining Pr, Spent less than 1 Month in Australia within 5 Years — 155 Resident Return Visa Granted in 3 Months

Case Summary

Visa/Service Type:
155 / RRV – Resident Return Visa

Completion Date:
September 9, 2020

Case Highlights:

  1. Application submitted from overseas

  2. Applicant had spent less than 1 month in Australia cumulatively in 5 years after obtaining PR

Overview:
Mr. J and his family obtained their PR through skilled migration in 2015 (also handled by our firm). Due to work commitments in their home country, they were unable to move to Australia as planned. Over the next five years, the family visited Australia only briefly, staying 5–10 days each year, totaling less than 1 month.

Originally, they planned to renew their RRV in Australia this year, but due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, they had to apply from overseas. Typically, RRV applications lodged from abroad have long processing times of around 1 year. Based on the client’s circumstances, our team prepared a highly comprehensive application. Submitted at the end of June, the visa was granted in less than 3 months, on September 9.
